Steve Hothersall 

Steve Hothersall is an award-winning sports broadcaster, presenter, 

commentator and event host for brands including Liverpool Football Club, 
talkSPORT, Carlsberg and the Athletic.

With more than 20 years at the pinnacle of sports broadcasting he’s been the voice of some of 
Liverpool FC’s biggest and best moments. 
His commentary on the ‘Miracle of Istanbul’ in 2005 alongside John Aldridge is iconic 
and he’s been the passionate soundtrack to many Premier League campaigns for 
Liverpool fans worldwide.

He’s a well known face on LFCTV, and as an event host he is trusted by the biggest names 
in football including Arne Slot, Jurgen Klopp, Mo Salah and Sir Kenny Dalglish.

Kelly Cates

Kelly Cates has worked as a leading sports journalist since she and Mike Wedderburn were the first-ever 

presenters on Sky Sports News when the channel launched in 1998. 

Since then, she has gone on to work on many of the world’s biggest sports tournaments 

including The FIFA World Cup, The Olympics, The Paralympics, The Euros 

& The Americas Cup – both on TV and Radio.

Recently awarded Presenter of The Year by the Sports Journalists’ Association in recognition of her outstanding work. 

From the start of the 2025-26 season, Kelly will become one-third of the new line-up replacing 

Gary Lineker on Match of the Day while continuing her role with Sky Sports Football. 

As the eldest of Sir Kenny Dalglish’s 4 children, Kelly is no stranger to Anfield, 

and we look forward to welcoming her back.
